Installation

There are two options for installing the WP Post Map WordPress Plugin: either upload the zip file using the WordPress Plugin Uploader or FTP the unzipped plugin files to the wp-content/plugins folder on your server.

Option 1 – WordPress Plugin Uploader

  1. Log into the WordPress admin panel
  2. Go to Plugins -> Add New
  3. Click the Upload Plugin button
  4. Click the Choose File button and locate the plugin package zip file that was included inside the download. You can also choose to download the “install” file directly from CodeCanyon. If you do this, choose the downloaded install file.
  5. Click the Install Now button
  6. Follow the on-screen direction

Option 2 – FTP

  1. Unzip the zip file that was included with the plugin download
  2. Once unzipped, you will have a folder titled wp-post-map – this is the plugin content
  3. Using FTP, upload the wp-post-map folder to wp-content/plugins on your server
  4. Log into the WordPress admin panel
  5. Navigation to Plugins
  6. Under “WP Post Map” click activate

Required Permissions

WP Post Map requires the ability to write to your uploads directory. These permissions are used to dynamically create a CSS file which includes shortcode CSS styles. If WordPress can upload to this directory, you are likely set up correctly. Over time, you will notice CSS files with names starting with ‘wppm_’ in your uploads directory. These can safely be removed. The dynamic CSS file will be recreated when the styles change.
